Mr Trevor Matlow was experimenting with a new wrapping machine and discovered that is was possible to make a 2 flavour lolly and also to insert a stick. Milk flavour was chosen as it was the most popular chew flavour at the time.

You would need 1133 Drumstick lollies to match the weight of a marching bands base drum.
